East lake
Above: East lake, before & after

The lake is stocked with Tench, Rudd, Roach, Crucian Carp & Perch- mostly small fish with the aim of getting more bites (in contrast to the West lake).

There will be free coaching events on the lake in school holidays, suitable for newcomers but also open to older anglers and returnees.

There are a number of platforms around the lake and a paved area from the disabled parking bay (by the old Bandstand end marked).

VPAA raised funds for the East lake work with the support of Alan Butterworth of the Environment Agency, local Councillors Janet Ludlow and Martin Rew and Victoria park staff, with grants from the Environment Agency, the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, British Trust for Conservation Volunteers & Community Chest.
The work was overseen by the Landscape Architects team of Tower Hamlets Borough Council.

The East Lake will also be drained down starting at the end of February [2011] and will undergo a similar process to the West lake. At the same time the extension to the lake will be excavated. The East Lake will also have areas of bank restoration and new timber deck areas.
